9 Spoons at the Bayleaf Intramuros

We were hotel hopping that particular day, because dinner was at 9 Spoons in the Bayleaf Intramuros. The Bayleaf is a nice modern boutique hotel located inside the walled city of Intramuros. On the way there with Derek and Danny, Danny asked if the Guardia Sibil were gong to allow us to enter the walled city. Hilarious!

To answer Danny's question, the Guardia Sibil did let us in Intramuros.

The hotel's lobby was so cute. I took some snapshots of their receiving area.

Here's a quick look at the directory of the hotel.

Dinner reservations were in 9 Spoons located at the hotel's penthouse.

We started dinner with some tapas.  We got beef tapas and gambas.

We also ordered Jamon Serrano pizza.

And the main course was Lengua Caldereta.

The food was great. The place was pretty empty that time, because it was a holiday. However, according to the server, they were usually full during regular days.

After dinner, we had drinks at the Sky Deck of the Bayleaf. The evening was perfect for lounging at the roof deck, while taking in the view of the golf course.

The night wasn't over after drinks, because we just had to look at the rooms. The reception assisted us and showed us their presidential suite. Derek suggested that we hold one of our holiday parties here. I took a photo of the receiving area at the 8th floor of the hotel.

Umu at Dusit

These photos have been sitting in my iPad and laptop for quite some time already, as I have been so busy lately. Pretty sad, though, because our lunch here was absolutely delicious. I know Danny will hate me for posting it, but I still do believe, better late than never.

We had lunch a couple of weeks back at Umu in Dusit, and we were so surprised because the view to the landscaped garden of Dusit was absolutely gorgeous, and the food was truly divine.

I love the water feature of Dusit's garden. While Danny was ordering lunch, I was at the patio taking these pictures.

Their pond was a bit on the dirty side though, so I ended up pitying the koi a bit.

Danny has a Wine and Dine card, the privilege card of Dusit. So most of the food that he ordered is at 50% off. Everyone ought to check this card out, it is so sulit. Because of this card, we were able to discover Umu, and Benjarong, which I will be posting pictures of afterwards.

The chairs in the restaurant were so cute, I had to take a snapshot of them.

My only request was, you guessed it, Uni Sashimi. Umu does a wonderful job of plating their uni, it arrived in shot glasses.

Danny ordered the Suzuki Teriyaki. It's sea bass teriyaki, which came with a side of potatoes.

We also ordered Soft Shell Crab Furai. This was delicious.

We ordered more sushi. We got Dragon Maki, which had unagi, avocado, cucumber and cream cheese.

The 2nd one was tekamaki.

And the piece de resistance was the Beef Tataki! These are thinly sliced beef with onions and ponzu sauce!

Feel free to contact UMU in Dusit. And when you're there, ask about their Wine and Dine card.

HTC Desire HD

Finally gave up my Blackberry 9700. The hardy phone has been with me for about 2 years. What did I replace it with? A couple of months back, I posted options of phones that I wanted to purchase. I bought a phone found on the list.

I bought an HTC Desire HD. It's great! It is better than my iPhone 4S! Why did I even bother getting an iOS device?! I should've just gotten an Android device.

I purchased my HTC Desire HD from the Hive in Glorietta 3. The salespeople there are quite helpful. I experienced a little bump though, because the staff forgot to pack the data cable into the box, so I was quite scared the phone's battery was going to die out on me the 2nd day I was using the phone.

For those who are looking to get another phone, try an Android phone. It's pretty overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's so simple to use.

Boat Shoe Crazy

I ended up going gaga over boat shoes the past few days. Yes, days apart, I ended up buying boat shoes both from Sebago and Sperry. The first one, the Sebago shoe, was a planned purchase, whereas Sperry was an impulse buy due to a 20% discount coupon that was given to me.

I purchased Sebago's Docksides in Rockwell. Is it just me or are Sebagos cheaper here? Docksides is advertised online at £109.99, but I think I was able to purchase mine in Rockwell for a little under PhP 5,000.00.

Borrowed from Sebago's site, I purchased a pair pf Bijou Blue boat shoes. The leather is so soft, which totally sealed the deal for me.

Then, days later, after finding myself in Trinoma with a discount coupon for the newly opened Sperry's there, I ended up purchasing this beauty:

This one is made of canvas! It was so presko sa paa! It was only PhP 3,700.00, and with the 20% discount, I was able to purchase it for PhP 3,000.00. Danny also purchased a pair from Sperry. The canvas is a beautiful Navy, which honestly, I mistake for grey!

Please do visit Sebago in Rockwell, and Sperry in Trinoma. Will update this post with their contact numbers. Their staff, super helpful! Plus, they have my size, whichis difficult to find here in the country!
